 Ready-to-Use Policies
These policies provide an excellent starting point to create a healthy work environment. They can be implemented as they are or they can be adapted to meet the specific needs of your workplace.

Workplace policies help create and maintain a healthy work environment and a positive workplace culture. Each workplace has unique factors that affect health, safety and the well being of all staff. Healthy workplace policies are an important mechanism to address these factors. The right policy will help decrease absenteeism, increase productivity and increase employee engagement.

The following sample policies can be adapted and used in your workplace. Many of the policies have been adapted with permission from the Middlesex-London Health Unit. They do not necessarily reflect Ottawa Public Health's internal policies.
