Being COVID Wise is how we will be able to resume economic and social activities while COVID-19 is still in our community.   Workplaces and businesses that are COVID Wise will help keep both customers and employees safer during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“COVID Wise Together” is a campaign to support businesses to implement health and safety measures and promote their actions to help prevent transmission of COVID19 to help build consumer confidence in our local businesses.

Does your business want to be COVID Wise Together?

Step 1: Review Ottawa Public Health’s COVID Wise resources for business

Step 2: Adapt your business to be COVID Wise (maybe you have already done this!)

  • Post signage about physical distancing and the mandatory mask policy
  • Follow the Temporary Mandatory Mask By-law
  • Ensure employees wear a mask whenever they cannot maintain metres (6 feet) distance (including in break rooms and non-public spaces)
  • Encourage customers to wear a mask in outdoor settings if they cannot maintain metres (6 feet) distance
  • All employees self-screen for symptoms of COVID-19 before each shift and ensure they stay home if they have symptoms or feel unwell
  • Change processes and/or use visible markers to ensure metres (6 feet) physical distancing
  • Remind employees and customers to maintain physical distance of metres (6 feet) as much as possible
  • Provide hand sanitizer or hand washing stations for customers and employees
  •  Inform employees on the importance of all these measures

Step 3: Spread the word about how your business is #COVIDWiseTogether with the campaign digital and print resources.
