About our services

Vaccination

⚠ Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself and loves ones from COVID-19 and influenza

  • Many local pharmacies have received the updated COVID-19 and flu vaccines from the Ministry of Health. Pharmacies are the primary way that Ontarians access these vaccines.
  • Visit the Ministry of Health’s website or OttawaPublicHealth.ca/FindPharmacy to locate a pharmacy near you including hours of operation, address, contact information and details on how to book an appointment.

Immunization services provided:

  • All immunization services are provided on a drop-in basis to residents who face barriers to access.
  • Please try to arrive 30 minutes before clinic close at break and/or end of day. We try our best to see all clients, however if the hub location you are visiting is very busy and reaches maximum capacity for the day, you may be offered to visit another clinic or asked to return on the next available date.
  • Support is also available by calling 613-580-6744 and speaking to a public health nurse if you have questions about your child’s vaccination needs or vaccination record. Calls will be answered Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

COVID-19 and flu vaccine

Ottawa Public Health offers the updated COVID-19 vaccination for:

  • Individuals facing barriers to access, including newcomers without OHIP and children under 2 (along with their household members).
  • Other eligible individuals may be able to access the vaccine, as capacity allows.

Please visit COVID-19 Vaccination for more details on timing and eligibility.

Ottawa Public Health offers flu vaccines at our clinics for:

  •  Children aged 6 months to under 2 years and their household members
  • Individuals facing significant barriers to access such as newcomers without OHIP and children 2 to 5 who have tried to access through another provider.

Please visit our  Flu page for more details on timing and eligibility.

Routine and school-based vaccines for children and youth

  • All of our hubs offer routine vaccines that are required for attending schools and daycares, including all school-based vaccines.
  • Vaccines are available to children and youth aged two months to 17 years of age who do not have a primary care provider (such as a family doctor or nurse practitioner). This includes children and youth without an Ontario Health Card (OHIP). For the list of publicly funded vaccines visit our Parenting in Ottawa website.
  • Please bring all vaccination records and a piece of identification for the child/youth receiving the vaccine(s) or their Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) card if available. An OHIP card is not required if you do not have one.
  • Visit the Parenting in Ottawa website for more details on vaccines for children and youth.

Champlain Screening Outreach Program

The Champlain Screening Outreach Program helps people get access to cancer screening services. This program is for individuals in Eastern Ontario without a family doctor or nurse practitioner. Individuals can access screening for breast, cervical, colorectal, and lung cancer based on provincial eligibility criteria.

Find out more about who can get cancer screening, and how to make an appointment.

Neighbourhood Health and Wellness Hubs can help check eligibility and book an appointment.

Please note: To be eligible for screening services, you must have Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) or Interim Federal Health Program coverage (IFHP). The Champlain Screening Outreach does not offer primary care services or diagnostic services.
