OPH’s Healthy Growth and Development Program: Update on Services to Parents in 2021

Home visits

OPH’s Healthy Growth and Development (HGD) long term home visiting program is still accepting referrals and visiting families from prenatal to entry to school. Priority is given to:

• Families experiencing mental health challenges
• Families with CAS involvement
• Families experiencing complex challenges, and
• Newcomers 

Support options include: in-person visits, videoconferencing, and telephone support.

Referrals can be made by completing the web referral or by faxing the form.

Prompt Care Clinic at the Royal: New Online Service for Mental Health Support

Beginning on January 18, 2021, the Royal will open a new mental health clinic to provide specialized mental health services for adults with moderate illness, offering quick access to consultation and brief treatment by a multidisciplinary team, including collaborators from The Ottawa Hospital.

Primary care practitioners can refer patients who have moderate mental health symptoms that have not responded adequately to treatment at the primary care level to the Prompt Care Clinic.
