ACTION REQUIRED: PHYSICIANS OPT-IN to keep receiving OPH Alerts

If you are a physician and have not yet registered, please take a moment to fill out the short, new physician sign-up form to continue receiving Public Health Alerts from Ottawa Public Health (OPH). These alerts are reserved for time-sensitive public health topics, and OPH does not share email addresses with any third parties.

OPH will no longer have access to physician email addresses from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. As a result, physicians must now register individually to stay informed. Nurse Practitioners remain registered and will continue to receive Public Health Alerts without interruption.

Email remains OPH’s primary method of communicating with Ottawa-area physicians. We strive to ensure our alerts are timely, relevant, and respectful of your inbox. Signing up ensures you continue to receive time-sensitive updates without delay.

Feel free to share these links with colleagues in your network. Both sign-up options are available on our website.

What Are Public Health Alerts?

OPH Public Health Alerts are limited to time-sensitive and actionable public health topics, including:

  • Notification of disease outbreaks or emerging diseases;
    • Notification of processes to report outbreaks or individual cases to OPH;
    • Notification of important new information required by public health obligations, such as local or provincial policies and updated public health recommendations;
    • Notification of public health hazards affecting Ottawa residents and / or health care professionals

Thank you for taking a moment to sign-up now to ensure no interruption in receiving future Public Health Alerts.
