Food Recalls and Advisories

Warnings are provided by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

What are some of the signs and symptoms of illness from eating contaminated food?

  • nausea
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • stomach cramps

These symptoms may be accompanied by fever, chills, loss of appetite, or headache.

People may call their illness a "stomach flu." If you have symptoms that continue to worsen or are not getting better, or you are worried about yourself, see a physician or nurse practitioner. Notify Ottawa Public Health at 613-580-6744 if you think the illness is related to food you bought or prepared, especially food that others may also be exposed to.
