Subject: Market Withdrawal of COVID-19 KP.2 vaccines

Dear Colleagues,

Please see linked below a memo from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health regarding the market withdrawal of all Pfizer COVID-19 KP.2 vaccines. All Moderna COVID-19 KP.2 products have previously reached expiry and are no longer in use.

As required by Health Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Health requires that all Pfizer COVID-19 KP.2 vaccine be immediately quarantined and destroyed, and the revised inventory reported on COVaxON by September 2, 2025. Specific steps to take are outlined in Appendix 1 of the memo.

The current K.P.2 COVID-19 vaccine has been withdrawn from market prior to the receipt of the new updated COVID-19 formulation for Fall 2025. Specific details will be provided when the new formulation is available in the province, along with full details on fall vaccination programs.
