Dear Colleagues,

As you may be aware, recent flooding in Ottawa has impacted a number of homes and businesses. As a result, you may have patients coming to your clinic with flood-related questions or concerns.

The following resources may be helpful for you and your patients:

  • Ottawa Public Health: Residential Flooding
    • Includes updates regarding residential flooding in Ottawa, measures to take during floods (e.g. infection control and prevention measures, ensuring safe drinking water for private well users), and recovery measures to take after flooding, including safe food handling practices
  • City of Ottawa: Basement Flooding
    • Offers resources to report basement flooding, advice regarding prevention of basement flooding, municipal resources relevant to those affected by basement flooding.
