Ottawa Public Health: Free Prenatal Classes for patients living in the 5th quintile

Ottawa Public Health is now offering new in-person prenatal classes specifically designed for pregnant individuals facing barriers and residing in Ottawa’s 5th quintile neighborhoods.

Ottawa 5th quintile neighborhoods include Beacon Hill South, Cardinal Heights, Vanier, Overbrook, Manor Park, Lowertown, Sandy Hill, Hawthorne Meadows, Hunt Club Park, Heatherington, Ledburry, Heron Gate, Ridgemont Greenboro West, South Keys, Emerald Woods, Sawmill Creek, Billings Bridge, Huron Park, Riverside Park, Mooney’s Bay, Carleton Heights, Courtland Park, Parkwood Hills, Carlington, West Centretown, Britania and Bayshore.

The Pregnancy Circles classes provide six free in-person sessions covering essential topics such as prenatal nutrition, labor and delivery, mental health, safety, breastfeeding, infant care, and postpartum recovery.

The sessions are offered throughout the City of Ottawa and are available in English, French, Arabic, Spanish and Mandarin. An OHIP card is NOT required to attend.
