Ottawa Public Health is excited to announce that we are transitioning our Teletypewriter (TTY) service to the 7-1-1 feature. This change ensures that people with hearing or speech disabilities can continue to make and receive telephone calls via TTY relay services, with the assistance of a relay operator. 

What is 7-1-1: People that rely on TTY relay services can dial 7-1-1 to connect for free with a Bell relay operator that can communicate back and forth with the caller and Ottawa Public Health. After calling 7-1-1 you will receive a response of “Bell Canada relay service” and then you can ask the relay operator to contact Ottawa Public Health at 613-580-6744.  

Canada Video Relay Service (VRS) is another option available for clients who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired.

Childhood immunization

You can also call 613-580-6744 and speak with a public health nurse if you have questions about your child’s vaccination needs or vaccination record. Calls will be answered Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Adult immunization

If you have received a message from Ottawa Public Health such as a letter or a call regarding an infectious disease, immunization or infection control lapse then please call 613-580-6744 and listen to the menu options carefully.

You can update your child’s immunization record using our new secure online webform, the CANImmunize app or the online Immunization Connect Ontario (ICON) tool.

Please do not email vaccination records to Ottawa Public Health.

Connect with a registered nurse from Health811 for free, secure, and confidential health advice. Service is available in English and French, with translation support also offered in other languages.

To book an appointment for any of our services, please call the Sexual Health Clinic at (613) 234-4641 Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 am to noon and 1 to 3:30 pm. For any other services, please contact your primary care provider (family physician or nurse practitioner) or visit a general community walk-in clinic.
