Parenting in Ottawa Drop-Ins

In-person support with a Public Health Nurse experienced with infant feeding are available at many sites throughout the city of Ottawa.

No appointment necessary, simply drop-in during the clinic's hours. Clinics are closed on statutory holidays unless otherwise specified. 

Please note:

  • Parenting in Ottawa drop-ins do not offer health exams and do not replace a visit to a primary care provider (doctor or nurse practitioner).
  • Consultations with a Public Health Nurse may be limited to 15-20 minutes.

High-risk pregnancy:  Roadmap for successful breastfeeding

Are you experiencing a high-risk pregnancy?  Worried about breastfeeding success because of pre-existing lactation risk factors?

Join our Lactation Consultant for a FREE Prenatal Information Session.

Learn alongside other parents about specific strategies to improve your breastfeeding success.

Breastfeeding support is available on alternating Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Clients can call 613-233-4679 to book an appointment and visit the Centretown CHC Website to find out more information on specific dates.    

Feeding Foundations - Breastfeeding Your Baby with Confidence from the Start:

FREE weekly virtual group for breastfeeding parents 36 weeks pregnant and above

Meet with a nurse/lactation consultant to review how to prepare for breastfeeding, discuss hand expression and ask questions of the experts to increase breastfeeding confidence before baby's arrival

Opportunity to book 1:1 phone or in person session with the RN/IBCLC

Free Breastfeeding Support: 

Offered by telephone and in person with a Registered Nurse/IBCLC.

Can be booked prenatally (when still pregnant) to review concerns or postpartum (once baby is born), from birth to weaning. 

All clients must do a telephone appointment first, in person appointments will be booked by the Registered Nurse/IBCLC as needed during this call.

Clients can book online for a telephone breastfeeding support appointment.

An Ontario health card is required to use the online booking system; if you do not have a health card, please contact breastfeeding@pqchc.com or call 613-820-4922 ext 3604 to book – all are welcome! 

Catchment area: North of highway 417, east of Island Park, west of Bronson and south of Ottawa River).

Support available from a Lactation Consultant and Early Childhood Development Worker on Mondays between 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. No appointment necessary, parents can drop-in. For families with children newborn up to 12 months.
