Media Requests

Ottawa Public Health (OPH) recognizes and values the role that the media play in communicating public health information to the public. OPH is committed to providing media with access to information about OPH services, programs and initiatives in a timely manner.  Media requests from accredited media (representatives of a recognized media organization) are given priority.

Media requests received outside of regular business hours (8 am – 4 pm, Monday-Friday) will be re-directed to an on-call OPH Communications staff. Please provide the identified topic, contact information and deadline. Please note that spokespeople may not be available until regular business hours resume.

Media requests by non-accredited media and students are logged and dealt with in sequence. While OPH makes efforts to accommodate non-accredited requests, delays in responding may occur.
