Vaccination |
Immunization services provided: COVID-19 and flu vaccine NOTE: There is currently no COVID-19 vaccination available at our clinics. Ottawa Public Health (OPH) has been informed by the Province, that there will be a short period of time starting September 1, 2024, where COVID-19 vaccines will not be available across Canada as we wait for the new formulation of the COVID-19 vaccines. The new formulation of the vaccine is expected early fall. As soon as the vaccine is available, OPH will inform residents through various communication channels.

Employment and Social Services |
We provide access to social assistance programs including financial assistance, housing, employment services, and referrals. |
Dental Screening |
Registered dental hygienists provide free dental screenings, fluoride varnish applications, support in accessing dental care and dental health promotion. They also provide support in enrolling into the Healthy Smiles Ontario (children) and Ontario Seniors Dental Care (older adults) Programs. All ages are welcome! Parenting in Ottawa Drop-ins |
Talk to a public health nurse about all parts of being a parent, like feeding babies, safe sleep, growing up, home safety, becoming a parent, parents' mental health, and more. For more information on drop-ins, visit the Parenting in Ottawa website. |
Diabetes Screening |
Working in partnership with community groups and organizations, SCREEN provides diabetes risk assessment, education and referrals for high-risk and immigrant communities in Ottawa and the Champlain region. Please check www.champlainscreen.ca for more info. |
Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) Kits (while provincial supply allows) |
Ottawa residents can access rapid antigen test (RAT) kits at OPH Neighbourhood Health and Wellness Hubs and Community Clinic location, J.H. Putman School (2051 Bel-Air Drive). J.H. Putman School Community Clinic is open:
Rapid antigen test (RAT) kits contain 5 to 25 individual tests (based on brand) and detailed instructions on how to use them. All Ottawa residents are eligible for one kit per household and additional kits can be provided for larger households, based on supply. For more information on rapid antigen tests (RATs), please visit the province’s website. In addition to offering rapid antigen tests, Ottawa Public Health is providing medical masks to support the community's health and safety efforts. Anyone collecting a rapid test kit has the option to take a medical mask. Residents are encouraged to pick up one |
Enhanced Services for Older Adults |
Enhanced Services for Older Adults at African, Caribbean, Black Wellness Resource Centre, Bayshore Field House and Rideau HS (Rideau-Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre). These include information sessions and services about Aging Well, Service Canada Programs, Home Support Services, Cancer Screening and more. Service Canada Programs will share information and services such as the Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Canada Pension Plan Disability, Old Age Security (OAS) and Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). Home Support Services provides help with light housekeeping to eligible low-income residents who have a medical need and who have little or no supports in the community. OC Transpo Fare Programs - This session will cover information relating to EquiPass, Senior Discount and Para Transpo Service. Emergency Preparedness - This session will outline the city ’s emergency preparedness plan and how to prepare for an emergency. Let ’s Talk about Dementia - Dementia is a condition that not only affects individuals but also their families. During this presentation we will explore the various aspects of dementia, from understanding its symptoms to the challenges faced by caregivers and how you can get support. Enhanced Older Adult Project focus groups - The focus groups will offer insight into the experiences and perspectives of the older adult program participants to enhance future programming. |
Champlain Screening Outreach Program |
The Champlain Screening Outreach Program helps people get access to cancer screening services. This program is for individuals in Eastern Ontario without a family doctor or nurse practitioner. Individuals can access screening for breast, cervical, colorectal, and lung cancer based on provincial eligibility criteria. Find out more about who can get cancer screening, and how to make an appointment. Neighbourhood Health and Wellness Hubs can help check eligibility and book an appointment. Please note: To be eligible for screening services, you must have Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) or Interim Federal Health Program coverage (IFHP). The Champlain Screening Outreach does not offer primary care services or diagnostic services. If you have a current medical complaint, please access care through available walk-in clinics. |
